some suggestions for editting

1. The beginning of the film

"Where am I?" We hear Cheng’s voice in echo first when it is still black screen. Cheng first comes to Australia and he doubts about his future. Inner his heart, he always asks "Where am I?" Cheng has his self narration telling in voice over, at the same time slow and deep background music starts to play. Then it fades in. The station is busy as we can hear people talking, the ticket machine processing and the speaker making notice. There is an Asian looking boy walks pass with a large black luggage, and he has glance the airport line board then walks away. This is Cheng, he gets off from airport line train and arrives in Central station. The Central station bell is imperatorial as the local landmark. The sunlight shines on the bell, the station and the greenbelt. Cheng walks toward to us with his big black luggage. He holds the map of Sydney city and feels irresolute to his destination. We can see he stops and looks around, but he has to keep walking.

2. The suicide scene

After the close-up shot of the dying Cheng's eye, we can have a serious of shots of his life in Sydney, (montage style) and especially the image of the poster, we could convey the idea of the importance of the poster and the protagonist whilom missed the better solution of life. Alone the shots of his life, we hear the sonic flashback sound. It can collaborate with the montage shots. We can hear the voice of the boss, tutor, and himself. Finally, Cheng closes eyes and end his life.
